A few days ago, Dr Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climatic Change) advanced the contents of the new report 'Climate Change 2007: The scientifical evidence'. It is thought that the mean temperature on the planet surface will increase ca. 1.8-4.0ºC during this century, as well as all kind of catastrophic events caused by meterological agents. A network of seedbanks and related centres to conserve Mediterranean wild plants
Welcome to the blog GENMEDA, formerly hosted at http://semclimed.blogspot.com
This is a weblog to give information and to exchange opinions on the network GENMEDA, focused on the conservation of wild plant species around the Mediterranean basin. Main activities of GENMEDA deals with the preservation of plant germplasm in seedbanks, restoration of wild plant populations, and the study of the effect of climate change on the Mediterranean plant communities.
